Roger started as a computer programmer way back in the 1960’s. He wasn’t experienced, but showed aptitude and went with it. This placed him on the cutting edge of this new-fangled technology and was an early user of COBOL. His experience led him to take a job as Computer Programmer for the City of Wauwatosa around 1972.

He also enjoyed driving school buses as a second job. He did this for quite some time after retiring from the city.

Roger did do service in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was primarily an armorer based on Hokida Island in Japan having the rank of Technical Sergeant when honorably discharged.
