Husband John M. Williams, Jr. was born February 22, 1929 in Harrisonville, Missouri. He was in the Marines during the Korean Conflict. He received his Masters Degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia in 1958. Then he taught and coached football at various small towns in Missouri for 30 years-the last being Knob Noster, where he coached and taught for 22 years before his retirement in 1991. John passed away October 12, 1998. He and Barbara are both buried in Knob Noster.

Daughter Liz adds this regarding her Mom, Barbara…Mom graduated from Milwaukee County General Hospital School of Nursing in Milwaukee in 1947.  While there she was a member of the United States Cadet Nurse Corp.  She also received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia in 1958.  She was a Registered Nurse.

Mom and Dad were married on May 9, 1952 in San Diego, California at the Asbury Methodist Church.  They were married by Reverend Arthur T. Hobson.  The witnesses were Alma M. Tabor and Lena M. Hosler.  Danny (Liz’s husband) and I tried to find this church when we were in San Diego in 1999 - it no longer exists at that location; there was an apartment building at that address now.
