Died:   1852 in Lockeport, Nova Scotia at Locke’s Burial Ground.

Mary’s father, John Ryder, son of Ebenezer Rider (b. 11/17/1702 of Plymouth, MA, d. 3/13/1750) and Thankful (Silvestor) Rider (b. 9/21/1703 in Plymouth Town, d. 1787) who were married 3/6/1726 in Plymouth, MA.

Ebenezer Rider was the son of John and Hannah (Barnes) Rider, also of Plymouth, MA.

Thankful Silvestor was the daughter of Joseph and Hannah (Bartlett) Silvestor.

Mary’s mother, Priscilla Churchill, daughter of Ephraim Churchill (b. 10/3/1709 of Plymouth, MA, d. 12/14/1749) and Priscilla (Manchester) Churchill (b. 1709 in Plymouth, MA, d. 12/17/1749 in Plymouth, MA) who were married 3/27/1730.

            Ephraim Churchill was the son of Stephen and Experience (Ellis) Churchill.

            Priscilla Manchester was the daughter of Stephen and Damaris Manchester.

 

Mary Elizabeth Ryder was the first convert of the Rev. David George, a black loyalist who came to Shelburne County, Nova Scotia.  For more information see:
