All of Ralph’s children were
probably born in Roxwell, Essex, England with the
exception of the last one which was born in Bishop’s Stortford,
Hertsfordshire, England.
Ralph made his will on
August 4, 1626.
At least two branches of the
Josselyn family have resided in the Bishop’s Stortford area, Hertsfordshire,
England. Ralph and some of his family
were there around 1630; reportly his last child was
born there and daughter Agnes dies there in 1653. The St. Michael
parish records mentions a John Josselyn becoming
an Overseer of the Poor in 1657, a Thomas Josselyn as
early as 1485, possibly 2 different John Josselyn’s
throughout the 1500’s, another John in 1657 and a Samuel in 1692. Please see Jeffery
Josselyn’s page to see details of his sons and
their descendents in the Bishop Stortford area.
