Daughter Thankful Amelia Cann was born November 25, 1800 in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and died there January 2, 1863.   She is buried in Yarmouth’s Mountain Cemetery.  Thankful married William Bancroft.  William was born in 1797.  He was lost at sea as a passenger on the schooner Melrose on October 28, 1861.  A monument to him can be found in the Mountain Cemetery in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.  He is the Uncle referred to by Leona (Dane) Briggs in A Bit Of Grandma’s Life as having been lost at sea on a subsequent voyage of the same vessel that had earlier transported her family from Yarmouth to Boston.
